The Quant-iT™ microRNA Reagent allows easy and accurate quantification of microRNA (miRNA), even in the presence of common contaminants such as salts, free nucleotides, solvents, detergents, and protein. The assay is highly selective for miRNA over rRNA or large mRNA (>1000 bp). Although the reagent is not exclusively selective for miRNA, we have been able to reproducibly quantify miRNA in pure samples at levels as low as 0.5 ng following the supplied protocol.
Features of Quant-iT™ microRNA Reagent:
Accurately detects as little as 0.5 ng miRNA in a microplate well
Core dynamic range of 5–500 ng/mL
Accurate results for sample concentrations from 50 ng/mL to 100μg/mL
Approximate fluorescence excitation/emission maxima of 500/525 nm
Using the protocol provided, this concentrated assay reagent provides sufficient material to perform at least 2000 assays in a 96-well microplate format. The assay is performed at room temperature, and the signal is stable for approximately 3 hours. Accurate results can be obtained for initial sample concentrations ranging from 50 ng/mL–100μg/mL.
