Det er nyttigt at fremstille porøse titanosilicater og potentielle ionbyttermaterialer til oprensning af radioaktivt affald. Det er en aktiv komponent i Sharpless epoxidation såvel som involveret i syntesen af chirale epoxider. I Kulinkovich-reaktionen er det involveret som en katalysator i fremstillingen af cyclopropaner.
