General Description
• Streptozotocin acts as a bactericidal by alkylating DNA and inhibiting DNA synthesis
• Streptozotocin enters cells through glucose transporter 2
Application
• Streptozotocin induces diabetes in experimental animals and can cause acute liver injury
• It is also useful for research on neuroendocrine tumors and carcinoma cells
