Thermo Scientific™ Pierce™ Streptavidin, Horseradish Peroxidase Conjugate includes streptavidin in a purified form conjugated to peroxidase for substrate-based detection.

Streptavidin, Horseradish Peroxidase Conjugate enables detection of biotinylated antibodies and other probes in a variety of standard assay methods, including western blotting, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, and fluorescence imaging. Streptavidin, Horseradish Peroxidase conjugate is supplied as lyophilized powder in phosphate-based buffer for immediate reconstitution with water.

Streptavidin er biotinbindende protein, der oprindeligt blev isoleret fra Streptomyces avidinii. I modsætning til avidin har streptavidin ingen kulhydrat og har en mildt sur pI på 5. Invitrogen Streptavidinprodukter anvender en rekombinant form af streptavidin med en masse på 53.000 dalton og et næsten neutralt pI. Streptavidin er et tetramerisk protein, hvor hver underenhed binder et molekyle af biotin med affinitet svarende til den for avidin. Guanidiniumchlorid vil dissociere avidin og streptavidin til underenheder, men streptavidin er mere modstandsdygtig over for dissociation.
