Reaktionen af phenylkviksølv (II) chlorid med acetophenonethiosemicarbazon (Hatsc) i ethanol i 1: 1 molforhold undergår symmetri og danner produkterne, HgCl2 (Hatse) 2 og Ph2Hg i stedet for den forventede forbindelse PhHgCl (Hatse).
