Description
This monoclonal antibody CSTEM29 reacts with human P-Cadherin, also known as Cadherin-3. Applications Reported: This CSTEM29 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis. Applications Tested: This CSTEM29 antibody has been pre-diluted and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human induced pluripotent stem cells. This may be used at 5 μL (0.25 μg) per test. A test is defined as the amount (μg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 μL. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test. Excitation: 633-647 nm; Emission: 660 nm; Laser: Red Laser. Filtration: 0.2 μm post-manufacturing filtered.
P-cadherin, also known as Cadherin-3, is a Type 1 cadherin protein that belongs to the cadherin superfamily. Type 1 cadherins are single-pass transmembrane proteins that have 5 extracellular cadherin repeats and an intracellular domain that binds p120-catenin and beta-catenin. Cadherins are calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion glycoproteins responsible for a range of processes including development, wound healing, cell-cell signaling, cell growth and differentiation. P-cadherin is expressed in human fetal structures, and in adult tissues such as the basal layer of the epidermis, breast, prostate, ovary, cervix, hair follicle, and corneal endothelium. P-cadherin expression has also been reported on embryonic stem cells, and stem cells of the normal mammary gland, and hair follicle. Overexpression of P-cadherin has been associated with poor prognosis in breast, prostate, ovary, colon, and stomach carcinomas. Mutations in CDH3 are associated with congential hypotrichosis with juvenile macular dystrophy.Specifications
