Macherey-Nagel™ MN 1640 de Grade Ashless Filter Papers, Round
Wet strengthened for high mechanical strength, which is ideal when removing residue from the filter. Macherey-Nagel™ MN 1640 de Grade Ashless Filter Papers, Round are smooth filter papers with very slow filtration of very fine particulates for use in quantitative and gravimetric applications.
Brand: Macherey-Nagel™ 227012
Description
High quality ashless MN filter papers are manufactured from refined pulp and linters with a high level of α-cellulose (about 95%). Cotton linters are short-fiber seed hairs from cotton seeds, which cannot be used for textile purposes, but which are highly suitable for the manufacture of soft and absorbent filter papers. In addition to cotton linters, Macherey-Nagel uses mainly pulp, which is obtained by chemical treatment of plant materials, e.g. coniferous or deciduous wood.
- Ash content: <0.01%
- For very-slow-speed filtration of very fine particulates (particle retention: 0-2μm +)
- General applications: quantitative routine procedures, analytical gravimetric applications, applications where residue is removed from the filter (e.g. with a spatula or jet of water)
- Additional applications: filtration of alkaline (base) solutions, pressure filtration, vacuum filtration
