Description
- Recognizes human IL-3
- IL-3 (Interleukin-3) is a multilineage hematopoietic growth factor that promotes proliferation, differentiation and survival of early multilineage hematopoietic progenitors
- Plays role in stimulating proliferation and survival of myeloid precursors
- Involved in cell activities like cell growth, differentiation, apoptosis
- Shown to possess neurotrophic activity and may be associated with neurological disorders
Process:
- Antibody specific for IL-3 pre-coated onto microwells
- IL-3 protein in samples captured by the coated antibody after incubation
- After extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for IL-3 is added to detect captured IL-3 protein
- For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent
- Solution containing sulfuric acid used to stop color development and color intensity
- Proportional to quantity of bound protein, measurable at 450 nm with correction wavelength set at 630 nm
