Description
- Recognizes human CHGA
- Chromogranin A is a member of granin family of neuroendocrine secretory proteins
- Precursor to functional peptides (vasostatin, pancreastatin, catestatin, parastatin)
- Negatively modulate neuroendocrine function of releasing cell (autocrine) or nearby cells (paracrine)
- CgA one of most used tumor markers in NET's
- Elevated CgA concentrations in serum or plasma of patients with different types of tumors
- Abnormal concentration found in non-malignant diseases (renal failure, heart failure, proton pump inhibition, gastritis, hypertension) or patients with liver diseases
- Precursor to functional peptides (vasostatin, pancreastatin, catestatin, parastatin)
Process:
- Antibody specific for CHGA pre-coated onto microwells
- CHGA protein in samples captured by the coated antibody after incubation
- After extensive washing, another antibody specific for CHGA is added to detect captured CHGA protein
- For signal development, horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody is added, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent
- Solution containing sulfuric acid used to stop color development and color intensity
- Proportional to quantity of bound protein, measurable at 450 nm with correction wavelength set at 630 nm
