Spectrophotometric assay for the quantitation of glutathione peroxidase in cells, erythrocytes, blood, and tissues

Glutathione peroxidase is a tetramer of four identical subunits with MW 84,000. It is found in mammalian cells and helps prevent lipid peroxidation of cell membranes by consuming peroxide in the cell.
