Description
ApplicationsHexachloroethane is used as catalyst in preparation of chlorosilanes from hydrosilanes. It is also used to investigate the transformation of hexachloroethane in natural waters and as reagent during polycondensation reaction of p-aminobenzoic acid. It is used as a source of chlorine in the chlorodehydroxylation of alcohols in the presence of triphenylphosphine.

Insoluble in water.
