Cell viability and proliferation assay test solution

Cell Counting Kit-8 is a viability and proliferation assay test solution. It is a supplied as a ready-to-use 1-bottle solution and enables the colorimetric determination of the number of viable cells in cell proliferation and cytotoxicity assays. Cell Counting Kit-8 utilizes a highly water-soluble tetrazolium salt (WST-8), which is reduced by cellular dehydrogenases to an orange formazan dye. The color change can be detected in the 430 - 490 nm range and Cell Counting Kit-8 exhibits improved sensitivity compared with other tetrazolium salt-based assays such as MTT, XTT or MTS. Can also be used in the detection of superoxide.
