BODIPY™ TR Cadaverin (5-(((4-(4,4-difluor-5-(2-thienyl)-4-bora-3a,4a-diaza- s -indacen-3-yl)phenoxy)acetyl)amino)pentylamin, hydrochlorid)

Den aminholdige BODIPY™ TR-cadaverin kan reversibelt kobles til aldehyder og ketoner for at danne en Schiff-base - som kan reduceres til et generere stabilt aminderivat med natriumborhydrid (NaBH 4 ) eller natriumcyanoborhydrid (NaCNH 3 ). Carboxylsyrer af proteiner og andre vandopløselige biopolymerer kan kobles til dette molekyle i vandig opløsning ved hjælp af vandopløselige carbodiimider såsom EDAC (E2247). Den elektronisk neutrale BODIPY™ TR farvestof ligner spektralt det røde fluorescerende Texas Red™™ farvestof.
