En naturligt forekommende monoterpenalkohol.Alfa-terpineol bruges som antioxidant, antiseptisk, antihypernociception og antiinflammatorisk. Det bruges også som opløsningsmiddel. Det er en vigtig ingrediens i fyrreoliedesinfektionsmidler. Desuden bruges det som duft i parfume, fedtdenatureringsmiddel til sæbeproduktion og syntetisk smagsstof.
