The new, semi-automated, and innovative 96-channel liquid handling system from Eppendorf, the epMotion™ 96 Flex, bridges the gap between traditional electronic pipettes and complex fully automated pipetting systems. It enables significantly increased efficiency and higher throughput compared to manual pipettes. At the same time it can achieve the efficiency and throughput of automated liquid handling systems in selected applications, at a fraction of their price and with a small footprint on the laboratory bench.
Flexibility
The exchangeable dispensing heads of the epMotion 96 Flex allow for easy and quick adaptation to different volume ranges. The device can be equipped with two dispensing heads covering volume ranges from 0.5 to 300 µL and 5 to 1000 µL. The highlight: The dispensing heads can be easily and quickly exchanged by the user without any tools in just a few minutes.
Ergonomics
Eppendorf places particular emphasis on ergonomics and precision in the development of new liquid handling solutions. This is also the case with the epMotion 96 Flex. The intuitive touchscreen interface and thoughtfully placed interaction points guarantee easy handling with the highest precision. Thanks to this operating concept and the small footprint, the epMotion 96 Flex can also be used in biosafety cabinets.
Accuracy and Precision
The epMotion 96 Flex is calibrated according to the new ISO 23783-2 standard and thus offers high pipetting accuracy and precision, the foundation for reproducible assays, even when using very small volumes or difficult liquids with high viscosity (e.g. glycerin) or vapor pressure (e.g. ethanol).
The Perfect Companion
The epMotion 96 Flex also serves as a useful complement to large automated systems. In the role of a "feeder" system it can prepare plates for further processing by large robots, which can significantly increase the efficiency and overall throughput of such systems.
