How to use the calculator:
- Enter your current tap water flow rate (L/min). If you don’t know what this is, you can measure the current flow into a bucket for a minute
- Calculate how many hours a day, days a week and weeks a year you use tap water for a particular application (ie 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, 50 weeks a year equals 5 x 5 x 50 = 1,250 hours). Add this figure to the Annual Equipment Usage (hours) box
- The calculator comes preloaded with the water and sewerage costs quoted in the Smart Note. If you know what price your organisation pays per 1000 litres (m3) for both water and sewerage you can add these for an even more accurate payback time
- The calculator then estimates annual water saving (litres) annual water cost and payback time for the promotional chillers
- The calculator has in-built hours of operation and electrical expense to give an enhanced representation of the savings you can make
